Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee to the Jordan – to John to be baptized by him. John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?” But, Jesus (answering) said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him. John cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’ From his fullness we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.”
Jesus, when he was baptized (immediately coming up from the water) was praying and behold… the sky was opened to him. The Spirit of God descending… coming on him in bodily form, like a dove… a voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”
