PERSPECTIVE
STORY:
(Historical_Fiction)
When the powerful of my time sent their leaders and experts to ask me, “Who are you?”,
I didn’t deny, but openly stated,
“I am not the Chosen-One.”
They pressed, “What then – are you Elijah?”, and I assured them I’m not.
Again with, “Are you The Prophet?” I continued, “… No.”
Exhausted by guessing, they said “Who are you?”
We were sent by the authorities. Give us something to take back to them. What do you have to say about yourself?”
Isaiah identified me, I explained, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness ‘Make straight the way of The Lord.'”
The politicians had one core question in mind (since I didn’t fit into their idolatry), “Then what makes you think you have the authority to do any of this… if you’re not the Christ, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”
In reflection of the irony, I feel a smirk in my response, “I baptize in water, but standing among you is one you don’t know. He is The One… who comes after me – who is preferred before me… whose shoes I’m not worthy to touch.”
This all happened in Bethany, on the other side of the Jordan (where I was baptizing).

Jesus Words 15 – Full sower sermon sabbath day with Jesus
One morning before church… Jesus’ group was picking some grain for breakfast, and a political-religious leader again accused them of “working on the sabbath.” Jesus tossed his accusation away using scripture (dismantling this guy’s foundation), “Haven’t you read what David did? …when he was hungry, and those who were with him? …How he entered into […]
